END OF MODULE SELF-EVALUATION

What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
My colour awareness has improved! I have also developed a range of skills including increasing my knowledge on illustrator and photoshop! Also working to a limited time scale has challenged my way of working and organization. Id say i have become more aware of how my work is presented, it has become a vital ingredient to spellcheck and scale my work properly.
What approaches to/methods of research have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?
I have been introduced to a variety of GD websites and blogs, this has helped me with the inspiration and research built up to my major projects. I have also been introduced to blogger, this has encouraged me to document and post my research appropriately so that I wont lose sheets and can then refer back to the posts for my development work.
What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
My ability to work to a limited time scale and delivering my work appropriately, answering the brief with all my development work and research efficiently, also keeping up with my blog throughout the module.
What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these more fully?
Although my work has become much more graphic , i still feel i need to clean up my finals and make my work more crisp. Working with illustrator more should help with this. My understanding of scale and composition also need to be improved, spending more time and being precise should solve this problem.

Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

  1. Organization of work - I will keep individual/separate folders and sketchbooks for each brief, also correctly dating and annotating my work should make this easier.
  2. Photography  - Taking time whilst photographs my work, i have found that most the photographs are rushed and visually let my work down.
  3. Google Calender - Make reminders and notes to self about regularly checking the google calender for updates and changes.
  4. Presentation of finals - Take more time in scaling m work appropriately and thinking about the composition and layout of final out comes.
  5. Worksheets - Get used to working on A3 sheets rather than small sketchbook, working on a larger scale throughout my development work will make it easier to create my finals as i will be aware of the visuals scaled up.
